Calculate your 941 liability

Go to IRS Direct Pay for Business

Visit directpay.irs.gov/directpay/businesspayment — this is the business version. The personal irs.gov/payments page does NOT work for payroll tax deposits.

Select the reason for payment

Choose "Federal Tax Deposit" as the reason, then select "Form 941 (Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return)" as the tax form.

Verify your identity

Enter your EIN, business name, address, and a prior year tax amount for identity verification.

Enter payment details

Input the tax period (e.g., Q1 2026 = Jan–Mar 2026), payment date, and the exact amount from your deposit schedule.

Confirm and save your confirmation number

Write down or screenshot your confirmation number. This is your proof of deposit.

⚠️ Deadline reminder: 941 payments are due the last day of the month following each quarter (Apr 30, Jul 31, Oct 31, Jan 31).
